The brothers of the Delta Pi chapter of Beta Theta Pi realize that there are many wonderful charities to contribute to. We want to be involved in helping those people in need, too. That is why we choose to participate in many different philanthropic causes through other fraternities and sororities on campus, different student organizations, and other city- wide philanthropic causes to help raise money for their cause. The brothers of Beta Theta Pi love to participate in these events! Whether it’s a sporting event, talent show, or something else, Betas can be seen having a blast! Each year, we participate in Chi Omega’s Chili Cook-Off which raises funds for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We participate in Pi Phi’s Speed Read which raises awareness for literacy; we donate to Delta Zeta’s Miss University of Louisville pageant which provides scholarships for young women. We participated in Sigma Phi Epsilon’s “Hoops for Haiti.” We participated in Sig Ep and Sigma Chi’s “Cam Slam” which was a homerun derby competition benefitting Leukemia and Lymphoma society. We had seven runners in Kappa Delta’s annual “Shamrock N Run” which is a 5k run benefitting Prevent Child Abuse America. We place a soccer team in Sigma Kappa’s “Kick in the Grass.” These are just a few of the many other events that Beta donates to and participates in throughout the year on the Foul campus and in the city of Louisville. Each spring, the brothers of Beta Theta Pi place a team in the Relay for Life that takes place on the campus of the University of Louisville. Relay for life is an all night, twelve hour event that has many activities going on throughout the night along with walkers from each team walking around the track. You must have a team member walking around the track representing that “cancer never sleeps.” This year our team won the best on-site fundraiser. This event is an entire campus event involving many RSO’s and Greeks coming together in support of the battle against cancer. Relay for Life is our chapter’s main philanthropic cause in the spring semester each year. Any questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,
